The committee representing former students of the Ile-a-la-Crosse residential school has decided to move ahead with legal action.
The decision follows refusal by the federal and provincial governments to provide compensation to survivors.
Metis National Council president Clem Chartier was at a meeting Friday and says details are still being worked out.
Another meeting will be held in October to update survivors on the progress of the lawsuit.
