Police Looking For Meadow Lake Survivalist

RCMP in Meadow Lake are looking for a local outdoorsman who has gone missing.

Forty-six-year-old Nels Sibley hasn’t been seen since January 1st.

The Mounties say Sibley is schizophrenic and has not been on his medication since before the New Year.

He was last seen pulling a sled filled with food and survival equipment, and was dressed warmly.

Police say he is a survivalist, who has trained himself to live off of the land in extreme weather.

The RCMP say he is known to visit the Rat Creek area around Meadow Lake, and he also has ties to the local St. Cyr Hills.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
