Saskatchewan residents wanting a new enhanced Certificate of Indian Status will have to wait until later this year.

Officials with Indian Affairs will be distributing information about the new cards when treaty payments are made this summer.

INAC Spokesperson Trevor Sutter says there are still a few details to be worked out.

Sutter says Status Indians can apply for the cards at their band office or at an Indian Affairs office.

Information on the enhanced Certificate of Indian Status is available at the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada website.
