Mild Weather Keeping Ice Road At Bay

Warm weather has kept this year’s ice road from forming on Wollaston Lake.

Ed Benoanie of the Hatchet Lake First Nation says they need some cold weather soon or supplies will run out.

He explains groceries can always be flown in, but fuel is a big concern, as the community only has about a couple of weeks supply left.

Benoanie says they usually have two weeks of cold weather by this time, but that hasn’t happened so far this year.
