Drug Bust in Yorkton-Area

A total of 16 people have been arrested following a six-month RCMP investigation into the trafficking of prescription narcotics in the Yorkton and Kamsack areas.

 

Half of the suspects hail from the Cote, Key, Keeseekoose and Sakimay First Nations.

 

They have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, as well as possession of property obtained by crime.

 

Two SUVS, two pickup trucks and a car were seized in the investigation.

 

The suspects range from 28 to 66 years of age.

 

All of the accused will be in court next month.

 

Police expect further arrests in the next few days.
