The Chief of the Nekaneet First Nation is unhappy with the way a project at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park was organized.

Parts of the lodgepole pine forest there are being cut down to encourage the growth of new trees.

Chief Alice Pahtayken says the band was not consulted about the project, which is being done in their traditional territory.

Pahtayken says she wants to contact the park manager so a protocol can be established to deal with future situations.
