A recent car accident that landed a Turner Lake woman in hospital, paralyzed and on life support has left her family struggling.

Forty-seven year old Jessie Montgrand was in a serious car accident Christmas Eve.

Since then she has been in a Saskatoon hospital.

Her sister, Lucy Montgrand, says considering the number of bones she broke – such as her legs, ankles, nearly all her ribs, wrists, collarbone, neck and vertebrae – she is doing well, but she says the travelling back and forth and being at her bedside is taking its toll on her family.

Lucy Montgrand says her sister, who is married and has a daughter and four grandchildren, is expected to be in hospital for six months.

Jessie’s landlord has donated a signed Sidney Crosby jersey to auction off as a fundraiser.

The auction begins on Monday.
