A certification program for companies wishing to do business with Aboriginal communities is going online.

The Progressive Aboriginal Relations Program launched 10 years ago.

Companies taking part in it are assessed to see if they can work effectively with First Nations and Metis communities and are committed to their prosperity.

Canada Post, Bank of Montreal, Cameco and I.B.M. Canada are just a few of the groups enrolled in the initiative.

Angela Bishop is a director with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, the organization responsible for the program.

She says they have put the program online in an effort to get even more companies involved.

Bishop says with more companies wanting to do business with Aboriginal communities and tap into their workforce, there is a growing need for the program.
