A 15-year-old girl from the Sandy Lake reserve is facing several charges following a high-speed police chase in Prince Albert.
Some time after 5:17 this morning, city police observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen and attempted to stop it.
The driver fled, eventually reaching speeds of 100 km/h.
The vehicle later ran over police ‘stop sticks’ in the 1600 block of 15th Avenue East, but the accused continued to flee.
Police say the tires literally fell off the vehicle, and the pursuit came to an end in the 800 block of 7th Street East.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
She has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, impaired driving, exceeding .08, and two counts of breach of a conditional sentence.
She remains in custody and will appear in court tomorrow.
