Several Attackers Involved In Stabbing Of Teen

The RCMP say at least four people were involving in the stabbing of an 18-year-old woman on the Standing Buffalo First Nation over the weekend.

 

Officers were called to a reserve home shortly after midnight on Saturday and found the victim with “several stab wounds to her extremities”.

 

Her injuries are not considered life-threatening, and she was released from hospital Saturday afternoon.

 

Two people were arrested shortly after the incident.

 

22-year-old Cherilyn Tawiyaka of the Standing Buffalo First Nation and 21-year-old Thomas Bellegarde of the Little Black Bear First Nation have both been charged with assault with a weapon.

 

The RCMP say the investigation is continuing and further arrests may be coming.
