A week dedicated to raising awareness about poverty kicks off tomorrow in Saskatoon.

The Anti-Poverty Coalition is hosting a loonie lunch tomorrow at St. George’s Parish Hall on 20th street.

Laurie O’Connor is co-chair of the coalition, and she hopes people from all parts of the city will attend the different events this coming week.

She says homelessness is a huge issue in the city, one that she’s not certain people are aware of.

Next week there will also be a community supper as well as a march across a bridge to represent that poverty exists in all areas of the city.
