MP Convinced North’s Median Income Will Get Better

The MP for northern Saskatchewan is optimistic the economic outlook for his constituency will improve.
Rob Clarke is responding to a recent report indicating the region has the second-lowest median income in the country.
According to the Conference Board of Canada, half of northern residents made less than $13,600 a year.
Clarke says he believes mining is helping improve that picture, and things should only get better as the gold mining project north of La Ronge goes into production and the demand for uranium increases.
Northern Manitoba came out with the lowest median income in the survey.
