The provincial government has approved projects worth about $3.1 million for the Big River First Nation and the Northern Village of Green Lake.
Big River will receive $1.66-million for the construction of a Centre of Excellence.
It will be used for job training and counselling, and for the development of small business.
Green Lake is in line for $1.5 million to develop a tourist park which includes RV sites and a boat launch.
The money comes from the federal government’s Community Development Trust Fund announced in 2008.
