A Metis woman from the Prairies will represent Canada at an international business summit.

About a month ago, Marie Delorme was appointed by the U.S. Department of State to represent the U.S. Consul General to Canada at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summet on Global Women’s Issues in Japan.

A president of a promotions company, Delorme says she’s thrilled to receive the invitation.

She says Aboriginal women are beginning to make their mark on the world scene.

Delorme also notes that many of the estimated 40,000 Aboriginal entrepreneurs in Canada are women.

She heads to Japan in a couple of weeks.

Delorme will be speaking on “Being a Woman of Vision” at the “Women Connect” event at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina on October 5th.
