Manhunt Near Onion Lake Leads To Homicide Arrest

RCMP say a suspect in a second-degree murder investigation in Edmonton has been taken into custody after allegedly running from police in Onion Lake earlier this week.

The 20-year-old Edmonton man was one of four occupants of a vehicle that was stopped by police on the Alberta side of the reserve this past Wednesday.

Police say two of the occupants, including the accused, fled into the woods — prompting an RCMP manhunt involving police dogs.

The Mounties set up roadblocks on Highway 17 north of Lloydminister and the suspect was apprehended without incident yesterday afternoon.
