The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is going to have to do without one of its vice-chiefs.

Delbert Wapass is leaving the FSIN on September 18th.

He is apparently going to seek the leadership of the Thunderchild First Nation in an upcoming vote.

FSIN Chief Guy Lonechild says it doesn’t look like a by-election will be held.

Instead, Wapass’ duties will be divided up amongst the remaining executive members of the federation.

Wapass holds the office of second vice-chief, and is responsible for the justice and education portfolios.
