Brabant Lake Man Dies In Police Custody

RCMP officers from BC have been called in to investigate the death of a man arrested in La Ronge earlier this week.

Police say the 32-year-old victim from Brabant Lake was picked up at the La Ronge Health Centre Monday evening for public intoxication.

Around noon the next day, EMS personnel were called and the man was then airlifted to Saskatoon.

He later died at the Royal University Hospital.

RCMP Sgt. Paul Dawson says it’s not known how long the investigation will take.

An autopsy will be conducted.

RCMP have not released the man’s name.
