Investigators sifting through the charred remains of a home in Stanley Mission have discovered a woman’s body.

The residence burned late Sunday night — and while several occupants were able to escape the blaze, the RCMP had previously suspected not everyone had made it out of the burning structure.

Police say they haven’t identified the victim yet.

An autopsy has been ordered, but foul play is not suspected.

A failure in the home’s wood stove has been determined to have been the cause of the fire.
