All of the homes on the Yellow Quill First Nation are expected to have their water service restored by the end of the week.

At last word, 11 of the reserve’s 127 houses were without water following the fire Saturday that destroyed the community’s water treatment plant.

Chief Larry Cachene says emergency supplies are being delivered to those houses.

The band says water will be trucked to the community’s reservoir where a booster station will supply the rest of the First Nation with water.

The community has also been asked to conserve water until a temporary water treatment plant can be put in place.

The band has scheduled meetings with Indian Affairs, an engineering firm out of Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Tribal Council to develop immediate, mid-range and long-term plans.
