Wild Mushroom Harvest on Target or Better

Wild mushroom harvest around La Ronge is a bit above average this year thanks to cool, wet conditions.

Jerry Ivanochko with the Ministry of Agriculture says the harvest has been underway for about a month now.

Ivanochko says dry weather in places like British Columbia have meant less harvest there, so a better price for harvesters here.

Mushrooms are selling for around $5 per pound.

Ivanochko says harvest around the Nipawin and White Fox areas has been below average because of hot weather there.
