People can once again visit Wanuskewin Heritage Park.

The park re-opened its doors to the public today after being closed for major renovations, including a $5.6-million expansion.

Wanuskewin CEO Dana Soonias says there is a new 60-seat theatre with a 40-foot projection wall, and exhibits on display.

“Until we can fundraise for the long-term exhibits — that’s our next phase of this renewal project — we have brought in temporary exhibits, and we want to show those to the public. We’ve got some travelling exhibits from Manitoba and other areas of the country,” Soonias says.

The park’s gift shop and restaurant have also been relocated, and there are larger meeting room for events and retreats.

An official grand opening will take place this spring.
