The Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company in Saskatoon is under going some renovations — but smaller than first envisioned.
According to a press release, plans are being developed for a phased-in renovation that will house SNTC’s administration and Black Box Studio Theatre.
The 20th Street property will be sold in order to raise necessary capital.
General manager Donna Heimbecker says the move to a single building will help get the company back on track, adding the company is about Aboriginal programming — not buildings.
Heimbecker says the recession and funding cuts are hurting arts organizations.
The SNTC is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this spring.
