Regina Home To Aboriginal Storytelling Festival

Aboriginal artists are getting the chance to tell their own stories this week in Regina.

The Sakewewak Storytellers Festival starts today.

The event includes storytellers, musicians, and even multi-media and hip-hop artists.

One of the organizers, Elwood Jimmy, says the festival fills a void — as it attempts to raise cross-cultural awareness between the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.

The festival runs until Saturday.
