Redundant FFMC Advisory Committee Eliminated

The federal government is officially doing away with an advisory committee to the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation.
The elimination of the 15-member committee is part of some administrative housework Ottawa is doing on federal agencies, commissions and boards.
According to Department of Fisheries and Oceans spokesman Kevin Hill, this particular commitee has not been in use for about two decades.
Hill says the committee was originally meant to provide a voice for the fishers, which is no longer necessary since the FFMC’s board is now made up of those same fishers.
