RCMP Track Down Suspect In Sturgeon Lake Assault

The RCMP have apprehended a man wanted in connection to a Boxing Day attack on a woman on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

52-year-old Clifford Daniels was arrested late yesterday afternoon on the reserve at the residence where he had lived prior to the December 26th incident.

A 46-year-old woman was seriously injured and was eventually transferred to a Prince Albert hospital.

Daniels was charged with several charges — including forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats — but the Mounties were unable to track him down until yesterday.
