The federal government is beefing up an environmental program for First Nations.

So far 60 bands have signed onto the Reserve Land and Environment Management initiative.

However, Indian Affairs likes it so much they’re directing another nine million dollars into it over the next four years.

The government says that means another 20 bands should be able to join.

The program provides First Nations with tips on land-use planning, compliance processes and overall management.
