Officials with Saskatchewan Environment say there should be a good moose hunt this fall.

Wildlife ecologist Rob Tether says based on numbers from last winter’s count, the moose population in the province is on the rise.

He says numbers are strong across the boreal forest, in spite of a thriving bear population.

Tether also says the number of licenced sports hunters and Aboriginal hunters appears to have remained steady over the past decade.
