The Meadow Lake Tribal Council hopes to get approval for a development that would generate power for the province’s north.

The MLTC has submitted a proposal and is currently in discussions with SaskPower.

MLTC’s Resource Development Chief Executive Officer Ben Voss says the tribal council would like to build small-scale biomass generators which would burn forestry residue to make electricity.

Voss says there is no timeline for when this might happen, but adds discussions will continue over the next few months.
