A medicine man accused of sexual assault has been found guilty.
Dennis Clayton Buffalo, 50, of the Daystar First Nation, did not react to the verdict in a Regina court this afternoon.
Buffalo was convicted for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman at his home in December 2006.
The court heard that the victim had been sent to Buffalo for a healing ceremony to “remove something bad” another person had put on her.
The details of the case said that the young woman was inappropriately kissed and touched during the ceremony.
Justice Catherine Dawson said the victim was a credible witness.
The victim and her family were not in court.
Prosecutor Sonya Guiboche says the Crown will seek the maximum sentence.
Buffalo was remanded in custody until his sentencing on Feb. 3.
