La Ronge Break-in Artist And Car Thief Pleads Out

A 17-year-old male has pleaded guilty in relation to multiple break-ins and car thefts in La Ronge.

 

The RCMP investigated more than 50 reports of break-and-enters in La Ronge and the surrounding area in October and November.

 

The youth, who can not be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was eventually charged with multiple offences.

 

He entered guilty pleas to several counts of break-and-enter and theft, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, break-and-enter with intent, possession of stolen property, theft over $5,000, and failing to stop for a peace officer.

 

The youth will spend 18 months in custody, including 12 months in secure custody, and another nine months under supervision in the community.
