Guilty pleas have been entered in the case of two Pelican Narrows men accused of killing a fellow resident.

Darren and Oliver Dorion, who are in their early 30s, were each handed seven-year sentences after pleading guilty in the death of James Ballantyne.

Ballantyne, 24, was fatally injured outside a home on the reserve in March 2008.

His killers were initially charged with second-degree murder, but pleaded guilty this morning in Melfort to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The judge gave them 44 months credit for the time they served in remand, which means they will spend another three years behind bars.
