End Of The Road For The “Voice Of The North”

A well-known northern Saskatchewan radio show host with the CBC is retiring.
Tom Roberts, the host of “Keewatin Country”, is calling it quits after over two decades in broadcasting.
Roberts told CBC Radio listeners this morning that he will be done by the end of the month.
The La Ronge bureau that he has been running was almost eliminated last year in budget cuts, but the CBC had a change of heart following a very public campaign to save it.
The CBC says, even though Roberts is going, the La Ronge bureau will stay.
The network is currently searching for his replacement.
