A deer may have been responsible for a fatal highway collision south of Loon Lake last night.

A 42-year-old woman from Onion Lake was killed when her vehicle collided head-on with a logging truck on Hwy. 26, just before 6:30 p.m.

The RCMP say the highway was clear and visibility was good at the time of the collision, but add that a deer made its way onto the highway at the time of the collision.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
