Charges Laid In Fatal Hit And Run Near Regina

A 21-year-old man from the Gordon First Nation is facing charges following a fatal hit-and-run north of Regina on the weekend.
William Bitternose turned himself into police yesterday afternoon, and has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and operating a motor vehicle without a drivers’ licence.
Bitternose has been released from custody, and will make a court appearance in Regina on April 19th.
The body of Donald Manitopyes of the Muskowekwan First Nation was found on the side of Highway 6, north of Regina, at 3:21 Sunday morning.
The suspect vehicle is in the RCMP’s possession.
