A man has been convicted of an impaired driving charge in a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a jogger northeast of Regina.
But a judge has acquitted Dustin Larry Yuzicapi of the Standing Buffalo First Nation of a more serious charge of impaired driving causing death, as well as one count of obstruction of justice.
The 23-year-old man pleaded guilty earlier this week to charges of hit and run causing death and a separate obstruction charge.
Yuzicapi was arrested after Bill Cheers, a teacher on the Carry the Kettle First Nation, was killed in April 2008.
