Cameco Recognized For Diversity In Workplace

Saskatchewan mining giant Cameco Corporation has been chosen as one of Canada’s best diversity employers for 2010.
The list, compiled by The Globe and Mail, BMO Financial Group and TWI Inc., was released yesterday.
Cameco’s vice-president of Human Resources, Kaylynn Schroeder, is pleased.
Schroeder says the selection reflects the corporation’s large number of First Nations and Metis employees.
She says one of the reasons Cameco was chosen is that it created a Northern Workforce Strategy.
According to Schroeder, the purpose of that strategy was twofold: to recruit more northern Saskatchewan residents and make recommendations on how best to train them.
Cameco was the only private-sector company in Saskatchewan to make the list.
