A former lawyer with a history in northern Saskatchewan is about to be released from prison.
James Michael Bomek, 60, first gained notoriety in 2003, when he was convicted of nine counts of sexual assault in Pelican Narrows.
The Flin Flon resident served out his time for those crimes, but was convicted again in 2006 for crimes against underage youth in Prince Albert.
A spokesman for the National Parole Board says Bomek has served two-thirds of his current sentence, and could be released as early as today.
One of the conditions imposed on Bomek is that he reside in a halfway house.
