Accused Home Invader Shot In Meadow Lake

Police want to know who shot a man who was allegedly caught breaking into a home in Meadow Lake.

Local RCMP got a call early Monday morning that a 20-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound, after reportedly invading a home.

The break-and-enter is believed to be drug-related, and all of the people involved are known to one another.

The injured man, identified as Waylon Sylvestre, has been charged with break and enter with intent, and failing to comply with his undertaking.

Sylvestre was arrested without incident yesterday, and made his first court appearance on the charges earlier today.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooter.
