Beauty of all shapes, sizes and colours stepped out for a good cause in Regina over the weekend.

The Above and Beyond fashion show featured Aboriginal, Caucasian and African American models.

First Nations model Heather Abbey says she was inspired to see so many Aboriginal participants in the show.

“It just felt great to see First Nations people represented so well — there was a good six or seven of us, at least — and I found it inspiring, because when I started modelling, I was pretty much the only one in the agency that was First Nations. I’d do shows, and I’d be the only one who was First Nations. So it was really inspiring, and empowering, to see so many First Nations models out there today,” Abbey says.

Proceeds from the show go to support Sofia House, a shelter for abused women.
