A Muskeg Lake Cree Nation man is being featured in a video about the dangers of drinking and driving.
The video was launched yesterday at Oskayak High School in Saskatoon, and will be distributed for free to all First Nations community schools.
The video tells the story of Dion Tawpisin, who is now 35 years old.
When he was 18, he was in a serious car accident that involved drinking and driving.
He suffered a brain injury and is now confined to a wheelchair.
Tawpisin told the students yesterday to listen when their parents give them advice.
At the time of the accident, Tawpisin was generating interest from the Prince Albert Raiders and the Saskatoon Blades.
He is hoping to go back to school and eventually live independently.
