The Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation and SaskMetis Economic Development Corporation are hosting a business service office workshop tonight in Regina.

The workshop will feature financing and grant options available to Aboriginal people looking to own their own businesses.

It will also give them the opportunity to learn about the business planning process through one-on-one consulting.

Tally Dufour, a business consultant with SIEF and SMEDCO, says she hopes tonight’s session will show that support services are in place for Aboriginal people interested in starting their own business.

“I hope we create more awareness that we’re here to help Aboriginal people who are looking to get into business or who are already in business, about the different programs out there that are available to them, and services that we offer businesses,” Dufour says.

Dufour says there’s been a high demand for the workshop, and tonight’s session is sold out.

She says she will be offering another session in the new year.
