A 24-year-old woman from the One Arrow First Nation was killed in a collision over the weekend involving a Chevy Blazer and a semi-trailer hauling a load of grain.

The accident took place early Saturday afternoon on a grid road two kilometres west of Hoey.

The RCMP say the grain truck was slowing to turn into a farm yard when it was struck from behind by the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was the driver and one of four occupants from the One Arrow reserve in the Blazer at the time.

The other three passengers were taken to hospitals in Saskatoon and Wakaw. At last word, one of them – a 26-year-old woman – was still recovering in a Saskatoon hospital.

The driver of the semi was not hurt.

The Mounties say toxicology tests will be conducted as part of their ongoing investigation.

No charges have been laid.
