The chief of the Witchekan Lake First Nation is heartily endorsing a new outreach program that uses horses to help troubled kids.

Ken Thomas says he has seen first-hand the benefits of having young band members interacting with the animals.

He believes it’s high time more kids get away from video games, and back into nature.

Thomas says another reason he likes seeing the outreach workers using horses is because they are a traditional animal of his band.
