Weyerhaeuser To Retain Managers After Mill Closure

Weyerhaeuser is leaving the door open a little longer for the possible sale of its Prince Albert pulp and paper mill.

Yesterday, the company announced it will keep several dozen of its managers on board another four weeks in case a sale takes place in April or May.

Company spokesman Wayne Roznowsky says it only makes sense to keep overseers on site in case a deal is made.

However, Roznowsky cautions the move shouldn’t be interpreted as a sign that a deal is imminent.

The last shift for most workers will still be this Thursday.
