Buffalo Narrows is planning to host what’s being called a West Side roundtable over issues related to the soon-to-be-built road link to Fort McMurray.

The September 12th gathering will involve chiefs, mayors, councils and economic development organizations from across northwest Saskatchewan.

Buffalo Narrows economic development official Doug Eddy says, among other things, the leaders will discuss the pace of development on the West Side.

Buffalo Narrows is teaming up with some Alberta investors to build a 192-unit resort development called the Pioneer Point project.

Eddy says six show homes should be ready by next month.

All told, he says the project could pump as much as $20 million in economic activity into Buffalo Narrows over the next 3 to 5 years.

That’s in addition to the 107 lots that have been already been developed and sold over the last two years.
