Watson Denies Paying Witness

The Saskatchewan News Network says it has obtained documents that show First Nations University of Canada board chair Morley Watson arranged a $4,000 payment to a woman who swore an affidavit that led to the first three suspensions at the university.
However, Brenda Stevenson denies the cheque had anything to do with her sworn testimony.
Stevenson says she was being paid for some contractual work she was slated to do in April.
The published report says three days after the affidavit was sworn, Watson sent an e-mail to the FSIN’s chief financial officer ordering the payment.
That was back in January — months before Stevenson was slated to do her contract work.
Watson denies sending the e-mail.
