Saskatchewan Party leader Brad Wall is outlining how his party is hoping to make inroads in northern Saskatchewan in the next election.

Historically, the Saskatchewan Party has been a distant second to the NDP in the North when it comes to voter support.

As well, SaskParty candidates Phil Elliot and Winston McKay will have the task of trying to unseat a couple of NDP MLAs who serve on cabinet — Buckley Belanger and Joan Beatty.

But Wall believes his party’s plans to add value to the province’s uranium resource will appeal to northern voters.

He also says his party will be “taking the lead” on the government’s duty to consult and accommodate First Nations with regards to development on their traditional lands.
