Wait for Air Ronge Water Users Nearly Over

Environment and health officials are hoping they will be able to lift an emergency boil water order in Air Ronge and surrounding reserves later today.

The boil water order was put in place on May 31st over fears that a ruptured sewage line at the local water treatment plant contaminated the water supply.

Those fears were confirmed later that week after some tests on the water came back positive for coliform bacteria.

The entire water systems in both Air Ronge and on the reserves have been flushed since that time.

Initial tests on the water taken this past Monday have already come back clean.

A second set of test results are expected to come in later today, and Saskatchewan Environment spokesman Warren Kelly says if they also come back negative, then the boil water order might be lifted as early as this afternoon.
