Searchers have recovered the body of a 20-year-old man that had been missing on the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation.

Damian Prosper was last seen alive on March 2nd.

His body was found late Monday afternoon along a tree line in the vicinity of the band office.

It’s not clear how Prosper died, but RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brian Jones says there is no reason to believe foul play was involved.

A post-mortem has been ordered.

The search, which drew volunteers from several other northern reserves, was hampered by heavy snow earlier this month.

The Mounties say the recent warm weather was instrumental in the discovery of Prosper’s body earlier this week.
