A statue of a Northwest War Veteran will be unveiled today at a ceremony in Beauval.
The statue bears the likeness of Métis Veteran Prosper Larivierre and is intended to honor the sacrifices of West-side Veterans.
Event Coordinator, Alex Maurice, says a lot of hard work went into getting the monument constructed, but it was well worth the effort.
The statue measures 7.5 feet in height and also bears the names of 100 other Veterans from the Northwest side.
The unveiling begins at 1:30 p.m.
Jets from the Cold-Lake Air Force Squadron are scheduled to perform a fly-by at 2 p.m.
